FAQs

01 Do I need a consultation? +

Yes. Every patient begins with a consultation to discuss their goals, medical history, and treatment options. This allows us to determine whether treatment is appropriate, answer any questions you may have, and develop a personalized treatment plan based on your anatomy and desired results. In some cases, treatment can be completed during the same appointment.

02 How long do appointments take? +

Most cosmetic injectable appointments are approximately 45 minutes, including your consultation, assessment, treatment, and aftercare instructions.

If you're new to injectables or have more complex treatment goals, your appointment may take a little longer to ensure you have plenty of time to ask questions and make informed decisions.

03 How long do results last? +

Results vary depending on the treatment, product used, and individual factors.

  • Neuromodulators (Xeomin®): typically last 3–4 months
  • Dermal fillers: generally last 6–18 months, depending on the treatment area and product selected

We'll discuss what you can realistically expect during your consultation and create a treatment plan that fits your goals.

04 What products do you use? +

At The Recovery Room, we use Health Canada-approved medical aesthetic products from trusted manufacturers.

Our neuromodulator treatments currently use Xeomin®, manufactured by Merz Aesthetics. Dermal filler products are selected based on the treatment area, your anatomy, and your individual goals. Product recommendations will always be discussed with you before treatment.

05 Who should avoid treatment? +

Injectable treatments may not be suitable for everyone.

Treatment may need to be postponed or avoided if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have an active skin infection or illness
  • Have certain neurological or medical conditions
  • Have allergies to ingredients contained within the product

A thorough medical history will be reviewed during your consultation to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate for you.

06 How soon before an event should I book? +

For best results, we recommend booking your appointment at least 2-4 weeks before an important event.

This allows time for the full effects of treatment to develop and for any minor swelling or bruising to resolve. If you're considering dermal fillers or are new to injectable treatments, allowing additional time before a wedding, vacation, or special event is always recommended.

07 Will I still look like myself? +

Absolutely.

Our approach to medical aesthetics is conservative and personalized. The goal isn't to change your appearance—it's to help you look refreshed, rested, and naturally confident. Every treatment plan is tailored to your individual features, and we'll always recommend only what we believe is appropriate for you.

08 What if I'm not sure what treatment I need? +

That's completely okay.

You don't need to know which product or treatment is right for you before booking. During your consultation, we'll discuss your concerns, assess your facial anatomy, and recommend treatment options that align with your goals. There is never any pressure to proceed with treatment, and in some cases, the best recommendation may be to wait or choose a different approach.
