From pre-surgery coordination to in-person recovery visits and follow-up support, the experience is designed to feel thoughtful, personalized, and easy to navigate.

Calm, Professional Support through your Earliest Days of Recovery

My goal is to help create a recovery environment where patients feel cared for, comfortable asking questions, and more confident as they begin healing beyond the clinic setting.

Depending on the selected package, follow-up visits are completed during the first several days after surgery to provide continued reassessment, education, and support as recovery progresses.

The Recovery Room is designed to complement, not replace, the care provided by your surgeon and healthcare team. My goal throughout the experience is to help patients feel more informed, reassured, and supported as they transition through the earliest stages of healing.

Continued Recovery & Follow-Up

Three

Following discharge, I meet patients in their home, hotel, or Airbnb to provide in-person post-operative nursing support during the earliest and often most overwhelming stage of recovery. Visits are designed to feel calm, supportive, and personalized to each patient’s procedure and recovery needs.

Together, we review medications, drains and dressings, compression garments, mobility, hydration, comfort measures, and common recovery expectations. Patients and caregivers are encouraged to ask questions and receive guidance and reassurance regarding normal healing changes and when concerns should be escalated to the surgical team or the emergency department

Day of Surgery & Early Recovery

Two

Once services are booked, clients receive intake forms, consent documents, and booking information through the Jane platform. A few days prior to surgery, I connect directly with patients to confirm surgical timing, recovery location, caregiver information, and visit coordination details so everything feels organized and prepared ahead of recovery.

Many patients feel understandably nervous leading up to surgery. My goal is to help create a sense of calm and clarity before the recovery process begins, so patients and caregivers know what to expect and feel supported moving into surgery day.

  • “How much pain, swelling, or bruising is normal?”
  • “How will I know if something needs medical attention?”
  • “What if my caregiver or I forget part of the discharge instructions?”
  • “How long will it take before I start feeling more like myself again?”
  • “What if I feel overwhelmed once I’m discharged from the clinic?”

These concerns are incredibly common during the first days after surgery. The Recovery Room is designed to provide calm, professional guidance and reassurance during this early stage of healing so patients and caregivers feel more supported, informed, and confident throughout recovery.

Feeling nervous before surgery, or uncertain afterward, is completely normal. Many patients wonder:

Questions related to scheduled visits or follow-up coordination are always welcome. Additional recovery guidance outside the booked service may require scheduling a Post-Operative Virtual Follow-Up appointment.

Can I contact you with questions after my visit?

Visits take place in the patient’s recovery environment, including private homes, hotels, and Airbnbs throughout Canmore and the Bow Valley.

Most Day of Surgery visits occur approximately 1–2 hours after discharge, depending on surgical timing and discharge delays. Exact timing is confirmed closer to your procedure date.

When and where do visits take place?

Yes. Part of my role is helping patients understand what is commonly expected during recovery and identifying concerns that may require follow-up with the surgical team or emergency care when appropriate.

Will you tell me if something looks concerning?

Yes. A responsible adult caregiver is still required following surgery, as directed by your surgical clinic. The Recovery Room is designed to provide additional nursing support and reassurance during recovery, not replace overnight caregiving.

Do I still need a caregiver after surgery?

Visits may include post-operative assessment, medication guidance based on surgeon instructions, drain and dressing education, compression garment guidance, mobility support, recovery education, and reassurance for both patients and caregivers.

What happens during a recovery visit?

The Recovery Room primarily supports patients recovering from plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures throughout the Bow Valley. Services may also be appropriate for select patients recovering from other day surgery procedures, depending on the patient’s recovery needs and support environment.

If you are unsure whether this service is the right fit for your procedure or recovery plan, please reach out to discuss your individual needs.
